A Walk Through Holy Week

Members and Friends, Our hearts and prayers are with you, and indeed all in our community and throughout the world in this challenging time. This Sunday begins Holy Week and a week when Jesus shows us the way to walk in and through suffering. Indeed, this year Holy Week will not be over in a week but continue in our world in the weeks to come. However, we will celebrate Easter on April 12 because Easter always comes at a time when we least expect it and to mark the ways that indeed we have seen signs of new life, love, connection, and God’s presence in these days of fear of anxiety as well. And yes we will anticipate another Easter Sunday when we will return to worship in person together whatever time of year that is! Palm Sunday | April 5 Send in your pictures with your “palm” branch (a green branch, a pussy willow, etc.) to Tom Dewey at by tomorrow, April 2. We will show the pictures of our community during the “prelude” in the worship service on Sunday. You can also see the worship service and pictures on the website and Facebook page. Have a piece of bread and a cup of juice ready to share communion together on Sunday! Maundy Thursday | April 9 We are working with BRCTV to have the Maundy Thursday broadcast at 7 pm on Thursday evening. It will also be available on the website and Facebook page. Have a piece of bread and cup of juice ready to share communion with us on this night as well. Good Friday | April 10 We will be ringing the church bell at 3 pm and holding a minute of silence to remember all who are suffering, in pain, all affected by the corona virus, and those who are on the front lines providing critical health care, food, financial assistance, and other essential services to our communities throughout the world. You can link in on the website and Facebook page. Easter Services | April 12 We will broadcast our Easter Sunrise service on website and Facebook page at sunrise. Our 10 am service will include some special choir music from Easters past and memorial flowers. Share joys and concerns for our worship services with Peter at 206-484-9814 or We lift the following people in our prayers today. Please include them in your prayers and thoughts throughout the week.

Those who have died and those who mourn;

All those who suffer in body, mind, and spirit;

Victims of natural disasters, war, and other violence and abuse;

Our military personnel serving around the world and here at home;

Our nation’s leaders, and all those in position of authority;

Our church and our community;

Others whose needs are known only to God.

If you wish a name to be added or removed, please contact the church office at 633-4757 during the week or email

Let us listen and help each other to know the presence of “peace”, be still” in the midst of this present storm in all of its emotional ups and downs. It is true, Jesus is indeed in the boat with us. We are being church with and for each other and our wider communities together. We are and we will make our way through this heartbreaking and heart opening storm. We indeed are finding our way to the other side which is Easter and the surprise of new life. Peter Ilgenfritz, Interim Pastor. 206-484-9814 Ella Long, Head Deacon Sandy Leonard, Senior Trustee
