The Mission of the Church shall be to teach and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, to establish a fellowship based on the love of God and humanity, and to further the Realm of God.
Sunday School is held all year long, every Sunday at 10 AM. September - June children follow the Spark Curriculum, a Bible-based curriculum for age 2 to grade 6. Families may access the curriculum from home. Each summer there is a week-long Vacation Bible School. Childcare is also available in the nursery.
Junior & Senior Youth Ministries
Junior Youth Group is for grades 6-8 and Senior Youth Group is for grades 9-12. Groups meet twice a month. Everyone is welcome to join, you do not have to be a member of the church. Meetings will be announced.
Adult Ed sessions will resume on Sunday, October 10 at 8 AM on ZOOM. Participants will watch a video lesson from the Great Courses for the first 30 minutes and then participants will discuss what they have learned for the next half hour. The classes will end at 9 AM so choir members can get to rehearsal and the rest of us can get to church in person if we choose.
The course this year is titled, "Why Evil Exists," taught by Professor Charles Mathewes from the University of Virginia. It includes 36 lectures that examine different views about evil throughout history. Each lesson stands alone, so you do not need to attend every session.
If you would like to join this class, please contact the church office for the ZOOM link.
Genie O'Connell | Minister of Music, Organist and Choir Director
With group singing indoors restricted the Minister of Music has had to change gears to bring music back into the Sanctuary. Each week, she invites musicians to perform socially distanced.
Prior to the pandemic the Choir rehearsed Thursdays at 7:30 pm in the Church Sanctuary. We welcome new members. The Church Choir rehearses and performs throughout the school year. During the summer, we have a "pick-up" choir which rehearses on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am.
The Bell Choir rehearses on Thursdays at 2:30 pm in the Chapel.
